PLATO is built around two principles...
1. every note has its own pattern sequencer - you can hold a chord and trigger a different rhythm sequence for each note - great for surprising polyrhythms. Each note can also play a different selection of articulations.

2. a network of subtle to dramatic interactions; sounds, frequencies, transients, levels and effects can all interact with each other in surprising ways. It is an instrument you try and steer. Fortunately the complex stuff is under the hood, you use the intuitive GUi to wrangle new ideas and bend new sounds without getting bogged down with details. Merge and melt the unexpected into ravishing new music with a daft grin on your face....

Two instruments from different centuries that share DNA. Both are fake 'pianos' that make a noise using a keyboard and a piece of tuned metal.
THE ARTICULATIONS
Fender Rhodes MK 1 - only 50 or so years old, so the youngster here - bright and beautiful
Dulcitone 1884 - an early model of Thomas Machels 'portable' piano - crude and gorgeous
Dulcitone 1900 - range lowered by an octave - dank bell like vibes
Nord Modular G2 Rhodes - Ok, this is a faked fake piano but it adds a lovely warmth and depth that complements the 'authentic' fake pianos.
WHATS GREAT
The joy of the PLATO engine is that like it's namesake (or Norman Bates, Walter White, The Incredible Hulk etc) it has at least two sides. Yes, it can be a fantastic 'normal' Dulcitone or EP, but you can also take those haunting bell like tones on the journey of a life time.
