tape-like pitch and tone drift engine
This instrument rewards curiosity more than discipline.
Instruments shouldn’t always behave themselves
DRIFT PREQUEL is an electro-acoustic ideas machine and a new home for some early Sound Dust instruments that are now heading into retirement*. Before they disappear, they have been lovingly dismantled, combined with new sounds and textures, and gently re-knitted into the DRIFT ecosystem.
The result is a strange modular playground where instruments can stack, crossbreed and drift into new forms.
Pitch wanders like old tape, noise percolates, tone shifts subtly, nothing stays perfectly still.
That's how we like it.
